The Woman You’re Becoming Deserves Your Care, Too

The Woman You’re Becoming Deserves Your Care, Too

There comes a point in a woman’s life when she looks in the mirror and realizes she has changed.

Maybe it happens slowly. Maybe one morning you notice your skin looks different, your body feels different, or the face looking back at you doesn’t quite match the woman you still feel like inside.

But the changes go so much deeper than our reflection.

By this stage of life, many of us have spent decades taking care of everyone and everything around us.

We have been daughters, mothers, wives, partners, friends, caregivers, employees, business owners, problem-solvers and the people everyone else could count on.

And somewhere in all of that giving, it became very easy to put ourselves at the bottom of the list.

I think that is one of the reasons Della Vita means so much to me.

Yes, I love beautiful skincare. I love botanicals. I love creating something by hand and knowing exactly what is going into every jar.

But Della Vita has always been about something bigger than skincare.

It is about the ritual of taking care of yourself.

Not because you are trying to turn back time.

Not because there is something wrong with aging.

And certainly not because you need to look 30 again.

But because the woman you are right now deserves your care.

There is something incredibly powerful about reaching a stage in life where you begin asking different questions.

What makes me happy?

What do I want this next chapter to look like?

What have I been putting off?

And when did I stop making myself a priority?

I have asked myself these questions, too.

And I am beginning to understand that growing older isn't about becoming less of who we were.

In so many ways, it is about finally becoming more of who we are.

Maybe we are a little softer.

Maybe a little stronger.

Maybe we have a few more lines around our eyes.

But those eyes have also seen more life.

We have loved. We have lost. We have started over. We have made mistakes. We have survived things we once thought would break us.

And we're still becoming.

That is the woman I think about when I create Della Vita.

When I fill a jar, I imagine the woman who will eventually open it in her bathroom or bedroom.

Maybe she has had a long day.

Maybe she is going through a transition.

Maybe she is rebuilding something.

Or maybe she simply has five quiet minutes to herself.

I want that little ritual to remind her to slow down.

To touch her skin with kindness.

To breathe.

To take those few minutes without guilt.

Because perhaps taking care of ourselves isn't vanity at all.

Maybe it's one of the ways we remind ourselves that we still matter.

And perhaps this chapter of life isn't about trying to find the woman we used to be.

Perhaps it's about discovering the woman we're becoming.

And taking very good care of her along the way.

Thank you for taking care of you.
